File: OverTheTop This is often suggested as the first trick to learn after the Cascade, although we recommend learning OneHighThrow first, as that gives you the skill of adapting your timing to an incoming ball. OverTheTop is a simple example of the OneThrowTrick. [[[< images/OverTheTop.gif _ |>> Over the Top <<| ]]] Juggle a normal cascade and select one ball. It helps if it's a different colour. The aim is to throw that one ball from an outside position and have it go right over the top of the cascade, and then to catch it and keep juggling. You'll find to start with that you simply don't have time to break your rhythm and throw from the wrong place. To give yourself more time it can help to concentrate on the throw before. Make that throw slightly higher and much narrower than usual. That gives you both more time and space to make the throw over the top. If you pick a single ball from a cascade and do OverTheTop every time you throw that ball then you end up with Tennis. If you do every right (or left) hand throw OverTheTop then you get the HalfShower, and if you do every throw OverTheTop then you get the ReverseCascade. So that's three different JugglingPatterns for the price of just one throw.
