File: SynchronousSiteSwap Synchronous JugglingPatterns are patterns in which both [[[> images/4x2x.gif _ |>> Synchronous _ Shower SS:(4x,2x) <<| ]]] hands throw simultaneously. The SiteSwap JugglingNotation has been extended to cover this case by writing the throws for the two hands and bracketing them together. For example, the synchronous 4-ball fountain is written simply as SS:(4,4) One consequence of the notation is that all the numbers will be even, and we need some way of indicating when balls change hands. This is done by appending an *x* to crossing throws. For example the synchronous shower is written as SS:(4x,2x) and the four ball crossing pattern is written as SS:(4x,4x) This notation can also be combined with that for MultiplexPatterns. See also InventingSynchronousPatterns.
